– MAPSE is often slightly reduced

The 2D echocardiographic characteristics

Notice if:

– LV dimensions are increased
– The myocardial wall is thin
– Myocardial movement is reduced
– Mitral septal separation is increased
– Left atrium is enlarged
– Mitral valve is incompetent
– MAPSE is reduced
